may not meet to discuss patients plan of care

common goals to meet the needs of a patient population. Team members divide the
work based on their scope, share info to support each other, coordinate processes and
interventions. Deep degree of collaboration. Usually have a positive outcome-
addresses communication and interpersonal skills, pt entered, family focused care,
collaborative practice and team functioning.

Three key questions that team members struggle with - Answer-Each member of the
team struggles with three key questions: am I in or out, do i have any power or control
and can i use, develop ad be appreciated for my skills and resources.

Major components of team development - Answer-In or out groups: most want to be
valued and recognized by others i the team. Most want to be at the core of decision
making- part of "in" group.
Power and control: want sense of control over their work environment. If faced with
changes ind'l cannot influence, experience a loss of that sense of power and influence.
Being appreciated:for unique skills and resources to bring goals and tasks to be
accomplished.
Ground rules: People must agree on the goals and reach an understanding of how they
will work together to achieve them.
Trust: fundamental to well functioning teams. most delicate aspect in relationships.
