Chapter: 01

Electricity

Electric Charges : Properties of matter to attract or repel to Other materials and its is scalar
quantity.

Denoted by (Q) and Unit is Coulomb (C).

Define 1 Coulomb : The I Coulomb of charge flow 1 Ampere in 1 sec .

Quantization of Charge :

Quanta means Packet
zation means बनाना
[ q=ne ]
Where

q = Net Charge

n = No. of electron

e = Change of electron

Electric substance : Substance are three type are :-

01. Conductor
02. Semiconductor
03.Insulator

01. Conductor : Those Substances through which electricity van flow easily are called
Conductor.
Ex : All the metals and metal alloy such as nichrome, manganin and
constantan.

02. Semiconductor :Those Sustenance which have both properties of conductor and
insulator is called semi-conductor.

03. Insulator : These substance which the electricity cannot flow easily are called Insulators .
Ex : All non-metal

Electric Potential : The Electric field in which the work done is moving I unit positive charge
from infinity to that a point is called Electric Potential .

Potential Difference : The Electric circuit in which the amount of work done in moving a unit
charge from one point to another point is called Potential Difference .
SI of potential difference is volt . Potential Difference is measured by Voltmeter.

, Potential Difference = Work done/Changed move
V = W/Q
Where :
Potential Difference = volt (v)
W= Work Done
Q = charge move

1 V = 1 joule (J) \ 1 Coulomb (C) [ 1V = 1J/C ]

Electric field : An Electric field is an invisible force field created by attraction and repulsion of
electric charge. It is a vector quantity . The S.I unit is Newton/Coulomb [N/C]. Measured in
Volt per m (V\m) .

Electric Current : The amount of Electric Charge following through a conductor in one see is
called Electric Current.
It is a scalar quantity.
I=Q \T
Where
I = Current
Q = Charge
T = Time

S. I unit of electric current is Ampere .
And Other unit of electric Current is C\s .
Current is measured in Ammeter.

Define
Ampere : The I Coulomb of charge flow in 1 sec in any cross section of a
conductor is called 1 Ampere .

Electric circuits : An electrical path consisting of wires, resistances and electric equipment
(like lamp, bulb etc) b/w the terminal of a battery is called electric circuit.
There are two type of circuit are:
01. Open Circuits
02. Closed Circuits

01. Open Circuits : The electric circuit which no electric current is flowing is called Open
circuits .
02. Closed Circuits : An electric circuit which electric current flow is known as Closed
circuits .

OHM's law : At Constant temperature current flowing in a circuit is directly
proportional to the potential difference applied across end of the conductor.

I ∝ V (At Constant temp.)
V∝I
V = I * R ( where R is constant)
v = Potential Difference
