, Limerick Poem
Limerick - A popular form of short, humorous verses that often are nonsensical and
frequently ribald; a five-line poem with rhyme scheme ( aabba ) . The standard form
of a limerick is a stanza of five lines, with the first, second and fifth rhyming with
one another and having three feet of three syllables each. The poems are usually
used to create funny imagery meaning to connect together phrases and thoughts
that weren’t ordinary. The last line swerve usually a tag or punchline, coming after
the longer set up.
