they turn in to acid by bacteria and therefore cause caries

what is NMES? (non-milk extrinsic sugars) - ANSWER-these
are artificially added to food during the process of food that is
made

what is the most damaging NMES? - ANSWER-refined sugars
sucrose and glucose (also called dextrose)

intrinsic sugars - ANSWER-these are naturally found in foods
such as fruits which is fructose
