Chapter 1: Why Worry About Substance Misuse or Substance Use Disorders (SUDs)?
PURPOSE AND PERSPECTIVE OF THE CHAPTER
The purpose of this chapter is to give students an overview of the problem of Substance Use Disorders

lack of adequate preparation for healthcare workers dealing with people with substance use disorders and
how more training is needed.
