Exercise Physiology Lab 8 Questions with complete Solutions
T/F: The vertical jump test does not provide a true measure of power Correct Answer-False; it does, because of the vertical displacement of the body mass during the jump Who developed the original jump test? Correct Answer-Dudley Sargent What is the main difference between the new jump test and the old one? Correct Answer-The old one only accounted for height, whereas the new accounts for body mass, thus it can calculate the power generated during the jump The power generated during the jump depends on what? Correct Answer-The force component (body mass), vertical displacement, and time in the air What can a force plate measure? Correct Answer-The forces and time involved during the jump What are the two basic components of power? Correct Answer-Dynamic strength, speed Why is the vertical jump test not a true strength measure? Correct Answer-Because a maximal muscle force is not elicited despite the maximal jump effort
