Write up flame test experiment
Explain the procedure for the flame test experiment
Equipment:
-8 salts, 6 known salts and 2 unknown.
-Metal rod (with a nickel chrome wire loop)
-Hydro cloric acid (HCL)
-Buncing burner
Procedure:
1, firstly we set up the buncing burner, while it is not in use the flame should be yellow.
2, than the metal rod is taken, and we dip the lop in the hcl to remove any dirt, and right after
the lop is dipped in the first salt.
3, Then we change the yellow flame to a blue, and we hold the lop of the metal rod in the
very center of the blue flame, this way we can see the colour give of the specific salt,
4, this is done with the rest of the salts, and the results should be written in a table specifing
the colour, (apple green, crystal blue…)
