Introduction: In this assignment I am asked to carry out research and describe the main physical and
technological resources including also human and financial. In this assignment I will be describing
these resources in specified business and the business is called “Monsoon” a retail shop.
Most of the businesses using all of the resources that are mentioned in the introduction, Monsoon is
a retail shop that sells clothing products, such as business will use physical sources in order to have
place to sell the products, also to store the products or in some cases to produce. Same goes with
the technological resources, a retail shop must have computers with technological software inside,
also the cash register having their own software. Human Resources is obvious as the business would
not exist without employees or customers. Financial resources are coming from the sales, shares and
so on.
So this resources are used in Monsoon, I will describe them more below.
Physical Resources
Buildings: Monsoon have hundreds of buildings across the world as the company is well known as a
retail business, therefore business such as Monsoon must have hundreds of buildings that will be
used in few ways, most common would be the stores where the products available to buy, Monsoon
also have buildings (warehouses) to held their products before letting them out to their stores. Also
Monsoon have buildings that take cares of the office work, like accounting, supplying etc. So as you
can see Monsoon is using physical resources in hundreds of examples.
Plant & Machinery: As Monsoon is a retail shop, they also produce all kind of products therefore
they need Plant and Machinery in order to produce them and this also goes under Physical
resources. The machinery is required in order to produce stuff. Same goes when it comes to the
design of the products, in order to be able to design and create it you will most likely need computer,
printers and so on, this is also part of physical resources.
Security: Monsoon is well known business with huge income from sales and also with a lot of items
stored in the store and warehouses, therefore the security must be on the highest level in order to
prevent any kind of breach, main option of security is the CCTV that will watch stores, warehouses
24/7 to see if there is someone and the alarm system also but this is technological part, the CCTV is
physical and tangible so the potential thief will see the CCTV and will think twice before committing
crime. CCTV is used in almost every business that have any physical resources in their business.

Software: This is part of the computers and other electronic devices such as cash register, self-
checkout. Software is the system that allows you to control these devices, for example Windows 10 is
the system that operate in new computers, it’s a software that allows you to work on a computer.
There is also other software such as Norton Antivirus that will protect the computers and other
