1.1 GHOSTWRITING
Ghostwriting involves writing on behalf of another person, usually without being credited for
the work, but you'll be paid for your services. It's a popular practice in the publishing world,
where ghostwriters are often hired to write books, articles, or other pieces on behalf of
well-known figures.
The first thing to know before you plan on making Ghostwriter a source of income is to know
that you cannot become a ghostwriter if you are not a creative writer.
Everybody is so interested in what Ghostwriting has to offer, yes it may be tiring and
stressful but you actually have to know how to write to be a ghost writer. For example I
learnt how to write by taking up mentorship classes and reading books on Wattpad and then
writing my own books.
1.2 FICTION WRITERS
If fiction is your forte, this figure is for you.
Fiction ghostwriters are often hired to write novels or short stories on behalf of an author.
The goal of a fiction ghostwriter is to capture the author's voice and style, while also bringing
their own creative flair to the project.
The key skills to becoming a successful ghostwriter is to be able to craft vivid, engaging
stories with compelling characters. They also need to have strong writing skills, including a
solid grasp of grammar and an ability to weave compelling narratives.
1.3 CHALLENGES OF BEING A GHOSTWRITER
One of the biggest challenges for fiction ghostwriters is striking the right balance between
capturing the author's voice and bringing their own creative style to the project. It can be
difficult to walk the line between staying true to the author's vision and adding their own
unique spin.
For example: Let's say that a fiction ghostwriter is hired to write a mystery novel on behalf of
an established author. In this case, the ghostwriter would first need to have a clear
understanding of the author's writing style and the conventions of the mystery genre. From
there, they could add their own unique twists and turns to the plot, while still staying true to
the author's vision for the story.
1.4 NON FICTION GHOST WRITERS
Non-fiction ghostwriters face a different set of challenges than fiction ghostwriters. For
example, non-fiction ghostwriters need to be skilled at research and fact-checking, since
they're working with real-world information. They also need to be able to organize and
structure information in a way that's clear and easy to follow.
, Non-fiction ghostwriters have a variety of different responsibilities. In addition to research
and fact-checking, they also need to be able to interview people and take accurate notes.
They may also need to synthesize complex information and make it understandable for a
general audience. And of course, they need to be able to write in a clear, concise, and
engaging way.
Personally, I know I cannot write Non fiction because I am definitely going to mix things up
and be too lazy to search for ideas of my characters. I am a fiction writer.
Another thing to know or note is that don't act or want to be a jack of all trade in Ghostwriting
or in creative writing. If you write Romance genre novels stick to Romance, if you write
Psychology thriller stick to it, whether it is Horror, sci-fi etc stick to the genre you are most
comfortable with and the genre that when you write it makes you feel as if you own it. But, if
you are able to write any genre and you can do it perfectly. Go for it.
1.5 GHOSTWRITING CONTRACTS
One other important aspect of ghostwriting is understanding the different legal and
contractual considerations. For example, many ghostwriters sign non-disclosure
agreements, which means they can't share any details about the project or the author. They
may also sign contracts that give the author full rights to the work.
There's what we call Exclusive and non exclusive contracts in writing ;Exclusive and
non-exclusive contracts are two different types of agreements that ghostwriters may sign. An
exclusive contract means that the ghostwriter is not allowed to work on any other projects
while they're working on the current project. A non-exclusive contract means that the
ghostwriter can work on other projects at the same time.
Exclusive contracts so far always pay more because they are not allowed to work on any
other projects, so obviously it's going to pay more.
1.6 MYTHS AND FACTS ABOUT GHOSTWRITING
-That it is a get rich quick scheme? Well, I don't think there's any online money making
business that is a get rich quick scheme, maybe except the Ponzi scheme. While there are
some ghostwriters who make good money, it's not a quick or easy process. Ghostwriting is
hard work, and it takes a lot of time and effort to produce a high-quality product. It's also
important to remember that not all ghostwriters are paid the same amount, and the pay can
vary based on experience, skills, and the type of project.
-One common myth is that ghostwriters are just "ghosts" who take all the credit for the work.
In reality, most ghostwriters are credited in some way, whether it's with a byline or a "with"
credit. -Another myth is that ghostwriters do all the work while the author just puts their name
on it. In reality, ghostwriting is a collaborative process, and the author is usually heavily
involved in shaping the final product.
-Another common myth is that ghostwriters are just "hired pens" who don't have any creative
input into the project. In reality, ghostwriters often play an important role in shaping the story
