This report will assess the impact of changes within the European and global factors.
Changes in the global and European business environment are often caused by
political events which have an affect Mcdonald’s as a whole and on their sales.
Pressures that have affected Mcdonalds and the opportunities will also be
discussed.
European Factors
The social policy is one factor that has affected Mcdonald's. This policy is created by
the EU to give support to people who are looking for work. This policy ensures that
each employee in a workplace is treated fairly. The social policy focuses on other
factors as well such as religion, race and sexual discrimination. The social policy
promotes human rights between countries in the EU. They also create campaigns to
support human rights in the EU. This affects Mcdonald’s because it will create a
positive attitude in the workplace. Mcdonald's staff will be able to work well with each
other and have no conflict amongst each other.
Education and Training Policy
The education and training policy is another thing that will affect Mcdonald's. This
policy by the EU gives free education and training to the EU citizens. This impacts on
Mcdonald's because they will have employees with basic level of standard education
as education is free until you are 19 therefore they will have mannered staff to serve
their customers which make sure they achieve their aim of giving the best customer
service. Training will affect Mcdonald's negatively as it will be cost effective meaning
that they will lose out on profit as they will have to pay themselves to train their new
employees. However a positive will be that they will be able to provide quality
training for their employees to enhance their skills as best as they can.
Brexit
The UK is likely to be leaving the EU which therefore means that new changes will
be put in place. The prime minister Theresa May is thinking of abolishing the human
rights and making new ones which means that Mcdonald's will have new rights which
they have to make sure they follow and don't break. If this happens then Mcdonald's
would have to make sure they follow these changes otherwise they would be
affecting others human rights which could result in action being taken against them.
