, Research Report: School Shoe Sizes of Grade 4 Learners
Step 1: Collecting and organizing data
Researchable Title: "School Shoe Sizes of Grade 4 Learners: A Study on Footwear
Requirements"
Main Research Question: What are the common shoe sizes among grade 4 learners and
how does it vary among different genders? This research question aims to identify the prevalent
shoe sizes among grade 4 learners and examine any potential differences in shoe sizes between
male and female students. By analyzing the data collected, we can gain insights into the typical
shoe size distribution among grade 4 learners and explore any gender-related patterns or trends in
footwear requirements.
Sources of Data: The data for this study will be collected directly from grade 4 learners in
selected schools. For the investigation on the school shoe sizes of grade 4 learners, the data
collection instrument chosen is a survey questionnaire. The survey questionnaire will include
questions related to the learners' shoe sizes and their gender. These questions will help gather the
necessary information to analyze the common shoe sizes among grade 4 learners and examine
any variations based on gender. The questionnaire will be administered to the selected sample of
grade 4 learners, and their responses will be recorded for further analysis
Data Collection Instrument: The instrument chosen for this investigation is a survey
questionnaire.
Type of Data: The data collected will be numerical data, specifically discrete data.
Question(s) for the Instrument:
a) What is your gender? (Male/Female)
b) What is your shoe size? (Provide options for learners to choose their shoe size from a
predefined range)
Male
Female
What is your shoe size? (Please select the option that matches your shoe size)
Option 1: Shoe Size 1
Option 2: Shoe Size 2
Option 3: Shoe Size 3
Option 4: Shoe Size 4
Option 5: Shoe Size 5
Option 6: Shoe Size 6
Option 7: Shoe Size 7
Option 8: Shoe Size 8
