Unit 1: Understanding learning
In this part of the module key theories related to learning are described and elaborated
on. If learners are to learn effectively and efficiency, then there has to be an
understanding of how learning takes place. Key process from educational psychology
have to be understood and applied in learning contexts. Further there needs to be an
understanding of how and when a child develops certain skills so that these skills can be
built upon and harnessed for future development. There also needs to be an
understanding that learners are different and have different needs. Thus, there are eight
