Physics - Energy stores and transfers
A system is: a group of objects
Examples:
- An apple sitting on a table = a system
If the table gets moved, the apple will fall, and there will be a
change in energy
Energy is measured in Joules.
An open system: allows exchange of energy to or from its surroundings
A closed system: can exchange energy, but does not let energy get
dissipated.
An isolated system: does not let the transfer of energy to or from its
surroundings.
Energy Stores
- Energy is stored in objects
- Energy can be transferred between objects if there is a change within the
system.
