I. Introduction

Learning theories provide educators with insights into how individuals learn. By
understanding these theories, teachers can design effective teaching methods
and learning strategies to optimize students' academic success. This paper aims
to compare and construct two learning theories: Information Processing Theory
and Theory of Human Motivation. We will also discuss how each theory can be
used to promote teaching and learning in the classroom.

II. Information Processing Theory

Information Processing Theory is a cognitive theory that focuses on how
individuals process information. It proposes that individuals receive information
from the environment, process it, and store it for later use. This theory assumes
that individuals are active in the learning process and that the mind works
similarly to a computer, processing information through various stages.

Information Processing Theory consists of three stages: sensory memory,
working memory, and long-term memory. Sensory memory is the initial stage
