This is my notes from Year 10 on WW1. This is for anyone who need them. They range from the expected topics such as Germany and Hitler to topics such as the invasion of Manchuria and Abyssinia. All the documents are word documents and have a clear bullet point system. Except for the 4,6 and 10 markers that I have also put on here which are essays. Hope my notes and a few of my essays can help.

What Happened after the Treaty Of Versailles
Treaty of St Germain September 1919
- Deals with Austria
- Territorials lost – the lost of 60% of territory – Bohemia/Moravia (Indus land) to Croatia
- Bosnia and Croatia want to Yugoslavia
- Army restricted to 30,000
- Anschluss forbidden

Treaty of Neuilly November 1919
- Amount lost is very small compared to the % of land mass
- Lost land to Yugoslavia and Greece to get sea access
- However, gained land from Turkey, not bad for them
- Bulgaria was forced to pay £10,000 of reparations
- The army was reduced to 20,000

Treaty of Trianon June 1920
- Hungary economy had collapsed
- Lost a significant amount of land
- Lost 3 million people – these people didn’t consider themselves Hungarian
- Lost people to Yugoslavia and Czechoslovakia to achieve self determination
- Was not forced to pay reparation as their economy had collapsed
Army was reduced to 25,000 men
Treaty of Sevres August 1920
- Turkey was treated very harshly for practically no reason
- Lost a lot of territory despite them not being a major part in the war
- One of the harshest – caused outrage
- Britain gained Iran
- Lost territory to Armenia, Britain (Iraq), Greece (Thraceand and Smyra) and France (Syria) –
driven by oil and coal
- Other areas became ‘ zones’ controlled by Britain, France and Italy
- Economy to be controlled to allies i.e taxes and budget
- Reduced to 50,000 men
- Not allowed an air force
- Navy restricted
- Very small army for the size of the country
- Outrage from the public
- Turkish Nationilism under Pasha rebelled – set up a Grand Assembly and stopped the
Government from the sugning treaty and tried to reverse it using army
- Turkish people drive Greece out of Smyra – but burned Smyra to do this – atrocity (basically
burned the Smyrna to the ground)
- Forced France to withdraw from Turish Territory
- Armenia gave up independence and joined USSR – because of the atrcocited and mass killings of
Armenias by Turks
