Schedule of reinforcement rule that establishes the probability that a specific occurrence of a behavior will produce reinforcement. Two schedules provide the boundaries for all other possible schedules. - Continuous reinforcement - Intermittent reinforcement Continuous reinforcement (CRF) Reinforcement given for each occurrence of the behavior and is used for the acquisition of new behaviors. Extinction no occurrence of the behavior is reinforced Between CRF and extinction is the rule for intermittent reinforcement. Intermittent reinforcement only some instances of behavior produce reinforcement - used for maintaining behavior. Responding begins to accelerate toward the end of the interval. The size of the interval influences both the pause and the rate.
