Lynn McCutcheon and his colleagues (2002) developed the Celebrity Attitude Scale which
was used in a large-scale survey by John Maltby et al. (2006).
They identified 3 levels of parasocial relationship, each level describing the attitudes and
behaviors linked to extreme forms of celebrity worship.
