How does movies or television influence people's behaviors?
Movies and Television are a great entertainment, but it has it´s flaws. The
problem isn´t the cast or the topic it is about, the problem is how people take
it.
TV has proven that it has influence on people's decisions and behavior, for
example: You are watching your favorite show 1 day before elections, and in
the episode you are watching they are constantly making jokes about how
awful it would be if Trump wins and they are saying that Biden will be the best
choice. Now you may think that it wouldn´t affect you and if you wanted to vote
for Trump you would've but it's actually more complicated than that. Probably
for all the affection you have to this specific TV show , it would´ve stick in your
head and make you change your mind.
TV shows and movies always make their character problems as similar as
posible to real life problems that happen on a daily basis which they use to get
use to lead us to have sympathy with the character.. But since it is a TV show
it uses unique ways to solve problems, and almost every one of them contain
violence. That wouldn´t be a problem if only adults watch it (Even some adults
get affected by this.) but with today's technology and human evolution, even
toddlers have access to many things on the internet that they aren´t ready to
see. Since children can perfectly use the internet and see anything they
please without their parents knowing, they usually watch things they aren´t
ready for or don´t fully understand. This could lead children to imitate what
they see on TV.
Most people know TV could have sexual content, violence, and an extent
vocabulary which kids could easily imitate. This could damage their mental
health, beacause they dont know what's happening and just have so many
questions.They could also apply what they see on TV to real life, because as I
said earlier TV shows and movies show things that happen in real life, and
kids are getting ready for this situations acting the same way they do on TV.
This doesnt happen as fast as we think, it actually starts when kids see how
close is the TV with real life.
