, How to use this workbook
1. Allow about 60 minutes for an initial 60-question attempt. This is a practice pacing suggestion, not an
official test simulation. Choose one answer per question and do not consult the answer section.
2. Score one point per correct answer. No partial credit is used. Record missed question numbers by
domain, then read both the correct-answer explanation and the discussion of the alternatives.
3. Rewrite each missed sentence or explain the vocabulary clue in your own words. Retry only after
reviewing the rule. A high repeat score may reflect memory, so test the same skill on fresh examples too.
Scope and blueprint
The official ATI TEAS Version 7 English and Language Usage section has 37 questions in 37 minutes: 33
scored and 4 unscored. Its scored categories contain 12 conventions questions, 11 knowledge-of-language
questions, and 10 language/vocabulary questions. See the official references at the end.
This expanded workbook uses 22 conventions questions (1-22), 20 knowledge-of-language questions
(23-42), and 18 language/vocabulary and writing-process questions (43-60). These approximate the official
category proportions. All 60 count toward this workbook score, and all use four-option multiple choice. The
official exam can use other item formats.
Score interpretation
54-60: Strong performance on this set; review errors and confirm mastery with fresh practice. 48-53: Meets
the 80% study target; strengthen weak domains. 42-47: Developing accuracy; review recurring errors before
another timed set. 0-41: Rebuild core rules using the rapid review and targeted examples. These bands are
not ATI proficiency levels. Programs set their own admission requirements.
