,Question 1

Jessica just passed her BCBA exam and has taken her first job in a clinic. She is given a new client,
who is receiving in home ABA therapy from two behavior therapists. The therapists each have
reported numerous interruptions by the parents during their therapy sessions - they come into the
room and interact with their child, causing a distraction. It takes several minutes or more after they
leave to get the child back on task. The therapists state that they have tried to communicate that this
disruption is interfering with their programming and to wait for them to take a break but the behavior
continues. What should Jessica do?

There is nothing she can do except encourage the therapists to make the most of the uninterrupted time with the
client.

Since she is new, she should ask her boss or another behavior analyst to handle the situation with this client.
She should encourage the therapists to just take breaks when the parents enter to avoid any confrontation.

She should meet with the parents to explain what conditions are needed for their child’s programming to be
successful (which includes waiting for breaks to talk to their child).

has given her a company vehicle to use on her “travel days.” Which of the following could Marissa do
to ensure that she is meeting requirements of Standards 2.03, Protecting Confidential Information and
2.05, Documentation Protection and Retention?
Marissa does not need to do anything; since she is in a company car, the contents are protected.

contents.

Question 3

Devin works for a school district as a behavior specialist; he conducts FBAs and helps teachers
across the district and currently has 14 schools on his caseload. Late last night he completed an FBA
report for an upcoming IEP meeting and sent it off to the parents for their review. However, this
morning he realizes he accidentally sent it to a different set of parents from another school who share
the same last name. What should Devin do first in this situation?

He does not need to do anything if there is a confidentiality clause written at the bottom of all email (as there often is
in school systems).

Send the correct family the report and later today let the other family know they can disregard the email they
received.

Let his boss know so that they can call the parents to explain what happened.

Immediately email the incorrect family letting them know that he made an error and to disregard and destroy his
email.

Question 4
pts
Mikal is a BCBA working for a clinic. He has 7 Registered Behavior Therapists (RBTs) whom he
oversees/supervises on a regular basis. One of the RBTs, Daniella, serves her client in his school.
Daniella reports that the school has asked her to place her client in time out when he engages in
aggressive behavior, as a means of punishing him for this behavior. Daniella has consulted the
school’s behavior intervention plan (BIP) and it does not include time out, nor does the clinic’s BIP for
this client. Daniella has asked Mikal whether she has to comply with this request, as not doing so
would make the teacher angry and she is afraid it would get her removed from the case. Which of the
following would be the most appropriate first step Mikal and/or Daniella should take in this situation?

Mikal should complete a Risk-Benefit Analysis on the use of time out as a procedure in order to demonstrate to the
school the risks, in accordance with Standard 2.15, Minimizing Risk of Behavior-Change Interventions.
