4.What is the purpose of ELCB and MCB?

Earth Leakage Circuit Breakers (ELCBs) detect when a current flows to earth by
comparing the currents flowing in the live and neutral conductors. It is important
to note that ELCBs only operate when a fault to earth occurs. They do not provide
overload protection.

Miniature Circuit Breaker (MCB) is an electromagnetic appliance that is used for
protection against short circuits and electrical overload. In case of short circuit,
MCB turns off automatically.
