The patient will look weak and dry. No sweating and no drooling no
upset stomach, normal or enlarged pupils


●● Cues of myasthenia gravis. Answer: Muscle weakness, eyelid
drooping, double vision, impaired speech, difficulty, swallowing,
changes in facial expressions, trouble, breathing, ptosis, diplopia


●● Myasthenia gravis medication, medications and treatments. Answer:

plasmapheresis, IVIG, thymectomy, monoclonal antibodies (Zumab)

Drooling, watering eyes, sweating, diarrhea, or abdominal cramping,
pinpoint pupils.


●● What do you do if your patient has symptoms of being in a
cholinergic crisis?. Answer: Stop the cholinesterase inhibitor, notify the
provider, prepare for airway management, and prepare to give atropine


●● What do you do for a patient that has signs of a myasthenic crisis and
also has recently had pneumonia. Answer: They may need more
medication, or something like IVig or plasmapheresis to help manage the
immune attack


●● Tensilon test. Answer: A test where a small dose of short acting
colonies race inhibitor was given to see if the patient suddenly got better
or worse. Used to diagnose MG and to differentiate between myasthenic
crisis and cholinergic crisis.
