Dear Students
Assessment 1 consists of 38 multiple-choice and True/False questions adding
to 40 marks.
The questions will be based on the following learning material:
Unisa’s Policy for Copyright Infringement and Plagiarism
Harvard Referencing Methods
SCM Glossary (English only - 2025)
Lessons 1, 2 and 3
These documents and learning resources are available under Additional
Resources and the Lessons. You should study these materials thoroughly
before attempting the assessment. You may NOT consult any study material
while you complete the assessment.
The assessment must be completed within 45 minutes. This means that once
the assessment has been opened, the timer will begin and will continue running
until the time allocation has expired.
You are allowed two attempts to complete the assessment. After both attempts
have been recorded, the highest mark obtained will be used for the final result of
the assignment.
Before starting the assessment, please take note of the following:
If the assessment is opened, but not completed, the system will submit the
answers automatically after 45 minutes.
Clearing your browser cache and cookies before opening the assessment is
recommended to minimise possible technical problems.
You will be required to confirm an Honour Pledge before the assessment
opens. By doing so, you acknowledge that the work submitted is your own
and that no unauthorised assistance will be used.
This assessment makes use of the Moodle Proctoring Tool. Your webcam
MUST, therefore, be enabled during the assessment. If you require guidance
on how to activate your webcam for this tool, please consult the document
“Activating your camera for Moodle Proctoring Tool for MCQ_SCM.pdf”,
which is available under Additional Resources.
When you select “Begin assessment”, the timed session will start
immediately. You should therefore only proceed once you are ready to
complete the assessment.
