In a kindergarten math class, students are learning about
addition and subtraction. However, some students are
struggling to grasp the concept of basic addition. They
are having difficulty understanding that adding means
putting together and that subtraction means taking away.
The teacher notices that these students are getting
frustrated with flashcards and worksheets about the
concepts.
I believe using the spacing technique would allow
students to understand one topic at a time while also
going back to review once both topics are understood
individually. While teaching the kindergarten class, I
would start with addition. I would spend time making sure
they know the sign used and, if needed, some common
words used in place of the equal sign; adding, together,
