The more core electrons and atom has the greater the shielding, thus going

For larger atoms, the most loosely bound electron is located farther from the
nucleus and so it's easier to remove. Thus, a size of the atomic radius
increases, ionization energy should decrease.

Answer:
Decreases down a column and increases from left to right
As the effective nuclear charge increases, it becomes easier to add an electron
across a series of Adams and from bottom to top of a group. Thus, as effective
nuclear charge increases, the electron affinity should increase.
