A) Presenting 3 of your selected vocabulary items which would need to be concept
checked. Show how you would elicit, explain, concept check and teach the
pronunciation of each of the three items. Each item should be approximately the
same length as the example given.
Rebellious:
Teacher: Has anyone ever acted in a way in which you knew was wrong?
Students: Yes.
Teacher: An, if your parents told you that you couldn’t go to your friend's party, would that
make you upset?
An: Yes.
Teacher: If you decided not to listen to them, what would be something that you might do?
An: I would go to the party anyways.
Teacher: Good. And when we don’t listen to the rules, we are being?
Students: rebellious.
Teacher: Very good. And what is the verb for rebellious, Cheng?
Cheng: Rebel.
Teacher: Very good. So, can we say protesters are rebellious?
Students: Yes.
Teacher: Why is that?
Students: Because they are acting out.
Teacher: Very good.
Minority:
Teacher: I am holding three oranges and one apple in my hands. What can we say about
the quantity of oranges to apples?
Students: That there are two more oranges than there are apples.
Teacher: Very good. So, we can say there are fewer apples than oranges.
Teacher: What is another way we can describe what the apple is?
Students: It is the minority.
Teacher: Excellent. Fai, what would be the minority citizenship in the class right now?
Fai: Canadian.
Teacher: Yes, and why is that?
Fai: Because we are all Chinese and you are the only Canadian!
Teacher: Very good!
