The authors assert from information published in other media that social networks play
an important role in the day-to-day lives of today's youth. To confirm this, the authors
offer several examples of actions for which social networks are vital, such as providing
educational outcomes, facilitating supportive relationships, and promoting a sense of
self-esteem. In addition, after talking to some young people, they highlight some of the
benefits of social networking.
