In-depth notes on Lenin's trajectory as the first Soviet leader. They include information on his rise to power, the timeline of the Bolshevik seizure of control and the consolidation of Lenin's one-party state, explaining political, economic and social factors behind it. They also include an explanation of the causes, developments and outcomes of the Russian Civil War (1918-22), with a comprehensive analysis of strengths and weaknesses of both the Bolshevik and the white armies. The notes, ordered in chronological order, then analyse Lenin's consolidation of power by considering the new decrees, the removal of opposition and the new constitution. Finally, the notes summarise Lenin's legacy.
