COMPARATIVOS – SUPERLATIVOS – AS...AS – TOO / ENOUGH
1. COMPARATIVOS
Los comparativos sirven para comparar dos personas, cosas o lugares.
Ejemplo:
Madrid is bigger than Cádiz.
Madrid es más grande que Cádiz.
La palabra THAN significa:
QUE
2. ADJETIVOS CORTOS
Con los adjetivos cortos normalmente añadimos: ADJETIVO + -ER + THAN
Adjetivo Comparativo
tall taller than
small smaller than
cheap cheaper than
old older than
young younger than
fast faster than
Ejemplos:
Peter is taller than John. Peter es más alto que John.
This car is cheaper than that car. Este coche es más barato que ese.
3. CAMBIOS ORTOGRÁFICOS
Si termina en -E: Añadimos solamente -R.
nice → nicer // large → larger
Si termina en consonante + Y: Y → IER
easy → easier // happy → happier
Algunos adjetivos duplican la consonante:
big → bigger
hot → hotter
thin → thinner

Con muchos adjetivos de dos o más sílabas utilizamos: MORE + ADJETIVO + THAN
beautiful → more beautiful than
expensive → more expensive than
interesting → more interesting than
comfortable → more comfortable than
Ejemplo:
London is more expensive than my city. Londres es más caro que mi ciudad.
This book is more interesting than that one. Este libro es más interesante que ese.

5. COMPARATIVOS IRREGULARES
Estos hay que aprenderlos:

Ejemplos:
This book is better than that one. Este libro es mejor que ese.
The weather today is worse than yesterday. El tiempo hoy es peor que ayer.
6. SUPERLATIVOS
Los superlativos se utilizan cuando destacamos una persona o cosa dentro de un grupo.
Ejemplo:
Peter is the tallest student in the class. Peter es el alumno más alto de la clase.

Normalmente utilizamos:
THE + SUPERLATIVO
