Stres- gevoelens van vrees, druk en verwagting en kan angs daarvan ervaar.

Vrees/Angs- emosie wat ongemak en senuweeagtigheid veroorsaak.

Chroniese stres- As stres vir lang tydperk aangaan en toenemende druk veroorsaak.

Positiewe stres- maak jou gereed vir aksie en gee jou adrenalien + energie. Bv. Wanneer jy voor in die klas
staan en praat. Dit is vir ‘n kort tydjie en jy kan dalk swetende hande ervaar en droë mond of skoenlappers
op jou maag.

Negatiewe stres- as stres meer is as wat jy kan hanteer, is dit ongesond. Jy mag siek, ongelukkig of
depressief raak. Jy is nie instaat om jou take te doen so goed as wat jy kan nie. Jy sal hoofpyne kry of nie kan
slaap nie.

Wat is belangrik om stres te bestuur?

Liggaam produseer stres hormone- Kortisol en Adrenalien
Kortisol is die hormoon wat geproduseer word tydens vrees en manifesteer in angstigheid.
Adrenalien is die hormoon wat die liggaam voorberei om te fisies te reageer op
gevaar/bedreiging.
Indien jy nie daarin slaag om stres te hanteer nie kan jou liggaam te veel van hierdie hormone
produseer . Die stres beskadig dan jou liggaam en verander in chroniese siektes soos hoë
bloeddruk.
