Introduction
I have chosen this story "The Dube Train" written by Can Themba. The story is set in
South Africa during the time of apartheid. The story talks about life on a train that takes
people to and from work. The people on the train are mostly Black South Africans. The
story shows how they talk to each other, how they treat each other, and what happens
when someone breaks the rules of polite behaviour.
