Closed Open Ended
 Facts only  Help to make a judgement/recommendation
 Lower level  Higher level
 What, Where, When, Who ?  Why, How, What if ?


General tips on setting questions
 Talk to people with first-hand experience of the topic
 Imagine yourself in the situation
 Don’t assume anything
 Brainstorm ideas with a friend
 Reflect on your questions

 Quick and easy to get information
 Can generalise the findings
 Data can be captured and analysed easily and quickly
