Why do we need it?
 A lot of spam is automated today
 Bots search websites and try to join mailing lists or sign up to blogs to harvest email addresses
 Websites use tests to make sure that you are human before allowing you to join up


Searching your email
A good search is the quickest and easiest way to find any email you may be looking for
To search, simply type a term or email address into the search box
 You can search on multiple criteria
 Click on Inbox to list all email messages


Sorting email messages
 Email messages in Gmail cannot as yet be sorted
 An emailing reading app such as Outlook has tools to sort your emails when reading it in app


Flagging email messages
Various flagging facilities are available in Gmail
 Add stars
 Mark as important


Grouping messages into folders
 Create labels / folders
 Assign a label
