BACKGROUND ON THE COMPANY
Comprehensive Financial Services (CFS) (Pty) Ltd, a South African
company, has been conducting business in the financial services field in
Cape Town over the last 20 years. Although the company operates in a very
competitive environment delivering financial services to its clients, it has
grown substantially over the last 3 years. This growth has led to various
challenges being currently experienced regarding the functioning of the
company.
THE DIAGNOSIS
The MD of CFS (Pty) Ltd, Ms. Cynthia Ledwaba, was aware of various
challenges being experienced but was unsure as to what exactly these
challenges were. As an Organisation Development (OD) consultant you
were contracted by CFS (Pty) Ltd to conduct an organisational diagnosis
and provide the Management Team with feedback regarding the current
functioning of the company. You subsequently gathered data by utilising a
survey questionnaire and the data that you gathered was consolidated,
analysed and interpreted and fed back to the Management Team during a
Feedback Session.
RESULTS OF THE ORGANISATION DIAGNOSIS
Various challenges were identified during the Feedback Session. Although
the Management Team agreed that Strategic Planning and Team Building
sessions should be held as a matter of urgency, they decided that the priority
was to implement a new ICT (Information and Communication
