PRESENTATION AND DATA RESPONSE
PRESENTATION
FACTORS TO BE CONSIDERED WHEN PREPARING (BEFORE THE PRESENTATION)
• Clear purpose/intentions/objectives and main points of the presentation
• Fully conversant with the content/objectives of the presentation
• Main aims captured in the introduction/opening statement of the presentation
• Information presented should be relevant and accurate
• Consider the time frame for presentation
FACTORS TO BE CONSIDERED WHEN PREPARING (DURING THE PRESENTATION)
• Establish credibility by introducing yourself as the presenter at the start
• Mention and Show most important information first
• Keep the presentation short and simple
• Maintain eye contact with the audience
• Manage time effectively to allow time for questions
RESPONDING TO QUESTIONS IN A NON-AGGRESSIVE & PROFESSIONAL MANNER
(HANDLING FEEDBACK AFTER A PRESENTATION)
→ Keep answers short and to the point
→ Be direct, honest and sincere when responding to questions
→ Always address the questions and not the person
→ Encourage questions from the audience/investors
→ Acknowledge good questions to motivate audience to ask more questions
AREAS OF IMPROVEMENT IN THE NEXT PRESENTATION
- Use humour appropriately
- Always be prepared to update and keep the information relevant
- Reflect on any problem or criticism and avoid it in future presentations
- The presenter should revise objectives that were not achieved
- Reflect on the length of the presentation to add or remove content
