Tips for HTML Exam Questions (CAT Practical)
HTML questions should be the easiest section.
It is usually short and only worth about 10 marks — easy marks if you practise.
Tip 1: Learn your basic codes and practise often. Past paper HTML questions repeat, so
most of what you study will appear in the exam.
Tip 2: HTML should be the second section you complete in the practical paper, right after
f ile management.
Tip 3: If you can’t remember a tag or structure, use the formula sheet.
Tip 4: If your website feature is not working, don’t panic.
Make sure your code is written correctly — you can still earn marks even if the page
does not work 100%.
Markers mainly check your memo against your code.
If your coding matches the memo, you can get the marks.
Remember:
There are many students to mark.
Examiners look quickly at the code.
If it works, you get full marks.
If it doesn’t fully work but the code is correct, you still earn marks.
Do not waste too much time trying to make everything perfect.
Focus on correct code, not perfection.
Also, check the mark allocation:
If a question is 3 marks, it usually means 3 code parts are needed.
