This poster presentation seeks to evaluate British Chinese pupils academic attainment and it’s affecting factors. Francis and Archer (2005) argue that this is greatly down to parents’ constructions of the value of education (Francis and Archer, 2005). Therefore, British Chinese pupils tend to gain cultural capital in the form of meritocracy.
