This essay explores the ways in which the British police utilise technology, both in their everyday role and as a method of responding to cyber crime.

This essay draws on historical and contemporary examples to analyse portrayals of the British police in the mass media

An exploration of the concept of dark tourism and people's motivations behind engaging in dark tourism.

This document explores how criminal punishment developed in Britain from the late eighteenth to early nineteenth century, analaysing how harsh punitive measures were gradually replaced with more humane methods of punishment.

: A series of viologens containing 4-n-alkylbenzenesulfonates were synthesized by the metathesis reaction of 4-n-alkylbenzenesulfonic acids or sodium 4-n-alkylbezenesulfonates with the respective viologen dibromide in alcohols. Their chemical structures were characterized by Fourier Transform Infrared, 1H and 13C Nuclear Magnetic Resonance spectra and elemental analysis. Their thermotropic liquid-crystalline (LC) properties were examined by differential scanning calorimetry and polarizing o...

Pyridinium salts, both molecular and polymeric, are an interesting class of multifunctional materials that exhibit liquid-crystalline and light-emitting properties. Moreover, their properties can be easily tuned by introducing new types of anions or by modifying their chemical structures. This dissertation describes synthesis and characterization of poly(pyridinium salt)s containing macrocounterions and fluorene moieties in their backbones, synthesis and characterization of nanocomposi...

Control of electronic properties in organic semiconductor materials is essential for electro-optical applications such as field-effect transistors, light-emitting diodes, and photovoltaic devices. This work is focused on two systems that highlight different approaches for the manipulation of electronic properties: (I) the development of electrondeficient (n-type) materials by selective lowering of ELUMO and (II) low energy gap materials by controlling both ELUMO and EHOMO. To specific...

Gold-based nanoparticles including gold-silica nano-spheres and gold nano-rods have been investigated for a number of therapeutic and diagnostic applications. The ability of these nanoparticles to convert light into heat energy makes them particularly appealing for photothermal therapy in which cancer cells are destroyed via light-induced heat generation. The overall objective of the study is to compare the efficacy of goldsilica nano-spheres and gold nano-rods in an in vitro system cons...

This document contains 18 summarised chapters with the most important information about criminal law assessments supported by the relevant cases. ( book Criminal law- Richard Card & Jill Molloy)

This document contains a wide range of subjects in the field of level 6 clinical genetics. I have put an index at the start of the document so you can get your intended subject quickly and efficiently. Key words are written in bold or underline in order to separate them from their descriptions. There is a lot of information to go through, even though I have simplified it as much as possible, so I've made sure to note how many pages are on each subject in the index so you know what you're getti...

This document contains the entirety of the subjects I studied for level 6-grade medical microbiology. I have titled each subject so you can find your information clearly. Each subject discussed in the document can be found in the key words. This document contains clear and valid figures.

This document contains the core subjects of pathophysiology, including pathology, immunological systems, disease pathways, and immunochemistry. This module also covered the specifics of pathology in cancer, pregnancy, toxins, bones, kidneys, atherosclerosis, bodily fluids (blood, mucus). This module also went into the immuno-therapies used or cancer. This document contains clear and readable figures.

A brief but heavily detailed document containing the core subjects in molecular genetics, including key words and their meanings. This will give you a good understanding of molecular genetics at a second year biomedical science level, without having to take in too much information about each individual item (as there's a lot to it!)

(Kate Harrison is a well-known but fairly new lecturer at the university, and was apart of the essential Covid-19 research) - This document contains lengthy discriptions of the different immunological processes within the body, including accurate descriptions of key words. Main subjects covered are related to immunological factors (Factor F, factor I), C3 convertases, professional phagocytes (and their behaviours), complement activation, MHC class I/II, inflammatory cells and pathways, T / B cel...

How certain drugs will effect our body and why. Some explanations about drug interactions, as well as key word and their discriptions.
