Assignment Description – Unit 2: LOD – Reflection on Practical Performance ("How Am I Doing?")
In this part of the assignment, I reflected on my own performance during the practical work carried out in Unit 2. This included evaluating how well I completed key techniques such as titration, colorimetry, calorimetry, cooling curves, and separation and purification methods.
Assignment Description – Unit 2: LOB – Chromatography Techniques
In this part of the assignment, I investigated the use of chromatography to separate and identify components in mixtures. The focus was on understanding how different substances can be separated based on their solubility and interactions with stationary and mobile phases.
Assignment Description – Unit 2: LOB – Calorimetry and Cooling Curves
In this part of the assignment, I explored two important physical techniques used in science to measure energy changes: calorimetry and cooling curves. These techniques are commonly used to study how substances gain or lose heat during chemical reactions or physical changes.
Assignment Description – Unit 2: LOA – Titration and Colorimetry
In this assignment, I carried out two practical analytical techniques—titration and colorimetry—to determine the concentration of unknown solutions. The purpose of the assignment was to develop my practical laboratory skills and show that I can accurately use scientific equipment to obtain reliable data.
Here is the second assignment of Unit 10 the Level 3 BTEC National Extended Diploma of Applied Science. I was awarded a merit in this assignment.
