This document is a structured revision guide covering four main science topics:
1. The Periodic Table: Summarizes Mendeleev's design, element properties (metals vs. non-metals), and electron blocks.
2. Radioactivity: Details types of radiation (Alpha, Beta, Gamma), half-life calculations, and safety protocols.
3. Electricity: Explains the differences between series/parallel circuits and AC/DC current, including Ohm's law.
4. The Electromagnetic Spectrum: Lists the uses for all wave typ...
This is a comprehensive, Distinction-level assignment on the use of genetic engineering technologies, representing the most detailed and hard-worked piece in my BTEC portfolio. It explores cutting-edge techniques in genetic modification, their applications in medicine, agriculture, and biotechnology, and considers both the scientific principles and ethical implications involved.

The assignment is extensive, well-structured, and meticulously researched, showcasing deep understanding, critical ...
This Distinction-level assignment focuses on the structure and function of nucleic acids and explains gene expression and protein synthesis in clear, detailed terms. It includes a carefully created nucleotide model, illustrating the components of DNA and RNA: a sugar (ribose in RNA, deoxyribose in DNA), a phosphate group, and the bases (A, T, C, G for DNA; A, U, C, G for RNA).
The assignment demonstrates excellent understanding of molecular biology concepts, presenting information in a structur...
This unit involved a variety of experiments, including titration, colorimetry, chromatography, and calorimetry, providing comprehensive hands-on experience with key scientific techniques. It highlights the development of practical laboratory skills, independence, and confidence in conducting experiments, as well as an understanding of how these techniques interconnect with broader scientific principles.

The work demonstrates strong practical competence and reflective insight, clearly showing ...
This assignment explores the principles and applications of chromatography, focusing on the separation of amino acids using both paper and thin-layer chromatography (TLC). It provides a clear and detailed explanation of how intermolecular forces, solvent polarity, and other factors influence the separation process. The work demonstrates strong scientific understanding, linking theory to practical application while explaining the role of Rf values in identifying different amino acids.

The assi...
Unit 4: Laboratory techniques and their application. Distinction Assignment. I hope these assignments are helpful to you all !
In this assessment I had to determine the concentration of an unidentified sodium hydroxide (NaOH) sample for this evaluation. In order to do this, I had to titrate the hydrochloric acid (HCl) against a standard sodium carbonate solution (Na2CO3) in order to figure out its concentration.

I did this assignment in double applied science BTEC and I got a distinction, I hope this helps you all :))
Introduction:
This experiment was designed to investigate the link between temperature changes and physical changes in cooling curves using paraffin wax and stearic acid as examples. A cooling curve is a graph that shows how something cools over time. To do this, I had to use different techniques with a tool called a calorimeter to learn about the curves better. Calorimetry is a method scientists use to measure heat during reactions or changes. They use a device called a calorimeter to do this....
coursework on the applied science level 3 Unit 2 A on titrations. I got a distinction for this
This is my Assignments C and D for Unit 17 of the BTEC Level 3 Applied Science course, focusing on microbiology and microbiological techniques. In this work, I carried out aseptic techniques to culture microorganisms and explored factors controlling microbial growth in industrial, medical, and domestic applications. I was really proud to achieve a Distinction for this work, and I hope it can help guide you too! Just a little reminder — please use this as a reference only and don’t copy it di...
