How do the Milankovitch cycles affect climate?

There are three different types of Milankovitch cycle but refers to the variations in the tilt/orbit of the earth around the Sun. Eccentricity(Stretch)- Earth’s orbit varies from spherical (round) to elliptical, which means less solar radiation reaching the earth at certain points cooling the climate. Precession(Wobble)- the wobble of the earth spinning on its axis like a spinning top. Angle Tilt- Earth tilt changes over 41,000 year cycle causing more or less sunlight to reach the poles.

What is the natural/enhanced greenhouse effect?

natural: The natural greenhouse effect is caused when the radiation from the sun hits the earth, warming it. Some heat travels straight back out to space. However some is trapped by naturally occurring greenhouse gases, keeping our planet warm. enhanced: The enhanced greenhouse effect refers to what humans are doing to increase the quantity of greenhouse gases in the atmosphere. The more greenhouse gases there are in the atmosphere the less heat that can escape and the more heat that is re-emitted.

What impact are humans having on the atmosphere?

Usually as a country becomes more developed, more greenhouse gases are produced and released in the atmosphere. As there is a higher demand for industry and transport there is more energy needed so more fossil fuels are burnt and more CO2 is released. Furthermore as our diets change, we farm more and methane is released through paddy fields and cattle farming
