Heat receptors are stimulated
The stimulus is converted into an impulse and then sent to the hypothalamus
High blood temperature directly stimulates the hypothalamus as well
Nerve impulse are sent to the muscles of the skins’ blood vessels
vasodilation (when blood vessels dilate) occurs
therefore more heat is lost, more sweat is produced and more blood is sent to the sweat glands
