What is leukaemia?

The uncontrolled growth of one type of white blood cell in the bone marrow Results in an increase in the number of the affected WBC type Eventually leads to bone marrow failure

Overcrowding of the bone marrow is caused by leukaemia. What can result from this overcrowding?

Anaemia - can't produce enough RBCs Thrombocytopenia - can't produce enough platelets Leukopenia - low WBC count (except for the cancerous type)
