CELL TYPES
Multicellular organisms (e.g. plant and animal cell) are composed of a wide
variety of cells, with each cell specialized in performing a specific function.
Multicellular organisms are composed of different cell types called Specialized
Cells.
WHAT ARE SPECIALIZED CELLS
specialized cells are cells with unique structures and functions. Specialized
cells formed through a process called cell differentiation.
TOPIC 3: Cell Type and Modification 1
, ❗ Specialized cells come from STEM CELLS
WHAT ARE STEM CELLS
also called UNDIFFERENTIATED CELLS
Stem cells is capable of giving rise to indefinitely more cells of the same type,
and from which certain other kinds of cell arise by differentiation and become
specialized cell.
Specialized cells work together in groups to form different tissue types.
CELLS AS TISSUES
the individual cell in a multicellular organism are arranged into groups that
function collectively as tissue. Each tissues composes an organ; organs that
work together to perform a specific function compose an organ system;
organ systems compose the body of an organism. All these are part if the
biological hierarchy characterized with increasing levels of complexity.
