1 Translate the following text about environmental policy from Turkish into English.
Doğayı korumak çok önemlidir. Temiz hava yaşam için gereklidir ama kirletildiği
zaman insan sağlığını etkileyen birçok sorun ortaya çıkar. Çevre kirliliğinin artması,
içme suyuna erişimi azaltabilir ve tarımsal üretimi olumsuz etkileyebilir. Ulaşım ve
ısınma alışkanlıklarımızın değişmesi gerekecek. Kömür, petrol, doğal gaz gibi kaynaklar
yenilenemezler. Bu maddelerin oluşumu milyonlarca yıl öncesinde gerçekleşmiştir.
Tekrar meydana gelmeleri için aynı süreye ve benzer koşullara ihtiyaç olabilir.
Hükümet Türkiye’de çevreyi korumak amacıyla önlemler almaktadır. Bunlar, doğal
hayatın korunması, güneş ve rüzgârdan elde edilen yenilenebilir enerji kullanımının
artırılması ve etkili geri dönüşümü içermektedir. Ayrıca, erozyonla mücadele etmek için
daha geniş alanların ağaçlandırılması bu politikalarda önemli yer tutmaktadır.
