Modernisation of work
Sociology of Lesuire emerged as a sub-discipline in the 1960s, but not
taken seriously (higher focus on sociology of class).
John Maynard Keynes predicted the 15 hour week.

By the early 1970s critics were expecting a 4 day week and lots of free

Who was Keynes talking about?
A lot of work is now precarious – and technology hasn’t saved us!
some people only working zero hour contracts meaning there is
no guarantee
during the rise in tech people didnt think they had to work as
much anymore, but they were sadly wrong. papers suggest that
people are working just as much, just not as hard. i.e. cleaning
and maintanence of the tech they have got to 'make their lives
easier'

patterns based around ‘work’.
What is the relationship between work and leisure activities?

looking at the work that they did and how that impacted their
lesuire choices. i.e rich man do rich things for fun
