Abortion Is a Unique Social Phenomenon in Catholic Social Thought
An exploration of whether different Catholic social doctrine publications, including the “Compendium of the Social Doctrine of the Church” published in 2004, treat the human rights issue of abortion precisely and whether they forthrightly condemn it as a moral theology concern. This paper is aimed at studying and illustrating the exceptionality of the social justice matter of abortion, showing its features that are absent in allied social phenomena. A determination of whether the issue has always been a core component of the Catholic social doctrine discipline taught in many universities plus seminaries.
