BACKGROUND SEMESTER 02 ASSIGNMENT 02 NB: THIS ASSIGNMENT CONTAINS ONE
COMPULSORY QUESTION 30 Soshangana township is situated in the rural areas of Bakwena
Municipality. Since the dawn of democracy, the community has faced several challenges related
to poor service delivery such as lack of water, and unmaintained streets. Despite several
attempts to engage the Ward Councillor and Municipal Manager by the Civic Organisation
members, there has not been significant changes to improve service delivery in the township.
The scarcity of water led to many households procuring water from nearby villages which led
them to be cash strapped because most of the residents are unemployed while others are
recipients of old age and child grants. To find a way forward on the matter, Ms Tancred,
Chairperson of the Civic Organisation, has requested you to investigate the possible ways to get
adequate supply of water in the township. The report, including recommendations should be
