This document is a Unit 9 IT Project Management – Assignment D (Closure & Reflection) report. It focuses on the closure of a real IT project and provides a detailed reflection on both the project outcome and personal performance as a trainee project manager. Key Details includes: Full evaluation of the completed project: the Fishwick Primary School Arithmetic App, built to improve children’s mental maths skills. Reflection on how project management skills (time planning, organisation, leadership, communication, and testing) were applied. Assessment of relevant behaviours during the project such as teamwork, problem-solving, and decision-making. A structured self-evaluation table scoring strengths and weaknesses across project management behaviours. Use of project management methodologies including the Project Life Cycle, PRINCE2, and RAD. In-depth analysis of the initiation, planning, implementation, and testing phases, with real project examples. Honest discussion of strengths (leadership, testing, working independently) and weaknesses (time management, teamwork, decision-making). Recommendations for improvement using tools like MoSCoW prioritisation, Work Breakdown Structure (WBS), progress reviews, and structured feedback cycles. Consideration of alternative tools and approaches, comparing MIT App Inventor with more advanced platforms (e.g., Python, Unity). This document demonstrates a well-structured project closure and reflection, showing strong technical understanding and consistent analysis. It is highly valuable for students studying BTEC Level 3 IT Unit 9: Project Management, especially those aiming for Distinction (D criteria), as it clearly addresses how to reflect on project performance, justify choices, and recommend improvements.

Introduction
A new software development business has hired me, and I’ve finished
my first project correctly. My boss has now asked me to examine the
project management procedure and assess its effectiveness.
It is my responsibility to write a report that analyses the project I recently
finished and assesses the efficacy of the project management techniques
and behaviours I used. It is also required of me to make suggestions for
enhancing the project management abilities and conduct in future
projects. Project management and software development procedures
should be consistently understood in my analysis.
