, Introduction
Leadership is defined as the way of influencing and encouraging participation to achieve
common goals (Pamfilie, 2012). Leadership also come within as it greatly involves the
personality and behaviour of the leaders. There are many authors who have analysed
different types of leadership and management style like McGregor, Drucker, Mitzberg etc
and more. The core of leadership relies in the range of environment and cultural aspects.
The style of leadership can differ from one to other (Pamfilie, 2012).
Henri Fayol (1916) theory of management as cited in Hatchuel, A. and Segrestin, B (2018) as
an original theory of a political/creative judgement that is independent of both bureaucracy
and economics. Fayol in 1949 have also contributed the 5 element of management like
planning, organising, coordination, command, and control. Later these 5 elements of
management or functions of management was expanded by other theorist to 7 by
combining budgeting, staffing, directing, and reporting as cited in (Pryor and Sonia, 2010).

From the evolution of Adolf Hitler to lead a dictatorship to democratic leadership that’s
followed today. What was the reason for this evolution? What impacted this formation?
This essay will be addressing the above questions using different theoretical approaches to
leadership and management theories using different socio-economic and technical context
that have influenced. Also, will be looking at the evolving driver’s trends that will influence
the future development of leadership & management
Methodology
To critically evaluate the evolution of traditional and contemporary leadership and
management theories in relation to social, economic and technical context and driver’s
trends that have caused the development in past, current and future. A secondary research
methodology will be used to critically evaluate the leadership and management theories.
